Vigil by the Body – The Wake with Zen Master Reding – Transformation into new Responsibility

After death, everything is not just over, but a new chapter begins. If desired, Zen Master Father Reding will be happy to accompany you at the wake (days between death and burial). During this time of change, we, those left behind, support the deceased with prayers and good wishes for a smooth transformation into new responsibilities.

The Wake

I am coming and going, like clouds in the wind, who can understand what we're for? We come and go, footprints in the sand, the footprints blow away, unknown to anyone. Walk and wander, who drives us from one to the other, who pulls us? We go and hope against appearances. The future is open, aren't we his? Blessing at the wake, I recite a few prayers for the deceased and personally shape the whole celebration with you.

Blessing

The wake is usually held in the closest family circle and can be carried out freely.

Make my heart ready for probation, seek what is lost, turn our minds to you. We're moving to the gates, it's not far off. Sing loud who has a voice. Look up, those who are weak and languid. Determined to go the ways that no one dared. You are called to the gates of the world. Will you be outside and outside you will die on the skull field. Shine on and be blessed forever. As in the beginning, so now and forever.

Prayer and Meditation at the Wake

We are destined to die in the midst of life; what is there will fall. Heavenly Father gives and takes. Belong forever to the Lord who loves us; whatever may happen to us, he takes and he gives. Destined to live in the midst of dying; what falls shall arise. He gives when he takes.

Good luck on the final journey and rest in peace!
