Ceremonial Burial and Funeral Service – And my soul spread its wings wide, flew through the silent lands as if flying home!
Prayer and Meditation
Recently, with a contemplative spirit, I saw a cherry tree in bloom on a cool moonlit night. I believe it could be nothing of greater whiteness. It seemed like snow had fallen. each one, even the smallest branch. Carried a heavy load of dainty white round balls. No swan is so white, since every leaf, while the moon's soft light breaks through the delicate leaves. Even the shadow is white and has blackness. Impossible, I thought, anything white can be found on earth.
As I now walk here and there in the shade of this tree, I looked up through all the flowers. And was aware of a whiter glow that was a thousand times as white, a thousand times as clear. Almost half astonished at it. the blossom snow seemed black with that white luster. A white light fell in my face from a bright star, which shone right into my soul.
However much I delight in God on earth, I thought, He has far greater treasures. The greatest beauty of this earth cannot be compared with that of heaven.
Ceremonial Burial - Funeral Orator
Yellow ice and green fog. Diseased calla flowers glow. Golden oil flows gently from the pale cups. Warm mold, bare skulls. black swans silently flee across white marble deserts. It was as if heaven had kissed the earth quietly, so that she must now dream of him in the shimmer of blossoms.
The air went through the fields, the ears of corn swayed gently, the woods rustled softly, the night was so clear from the stars. And my soul spread its wings wide, flew through the silent lands as if flying home.
