Funeral Service - Commemoration

When we commemorate the person who has passed, we look at the death and grief of the person in the light of truth. We remain connected to those who have gone before. In remembering the dead, we learn that our life is fleeting; we have no permanent home in this world; our life leads to death and it finds its ultimate fulfillment. But the love that unites us with the deceased may continue and be a helping light for us.

You are taken from the earth and you will return to the earth. The path is walked, the tired feet are resting, the gravity of this earth is now disappearing. The one opens wide its life and envelops you in your new dress. Gone are all shadows and guilt and storms, maybe a word accompanies you, a day. Now you live in freedom, nothing is far away or close, free from the earth and single, only God is there.
